Groups

The Women’s Centre runs many special interest groups through the year. Such groups are run with the aim of meeting the needs and achieving positive outcomes for women within the community. Please refer to the Centre’s Newsletter and Bulletin Board for more information on current groups within the Centre.

All groups run according to demand and other groups can be negotiated according to need.

All Groups are Free of Charge, but for some the spaces are limited, so if you are interested in a particular group or workshop be sure to book early.

Balancing Life

Beginning January 26th
on Thurdays 10.00 am to 12 noon
Stress management and relaxation

    Craft Group

    Paper, fabric, threads, paint and more - learn new creative skills and enjoy the company of other women. Materials supplied.

    Now on Tuesdays 1pm - 3.00pm:

  • Homeless Person's Legal Clinic

    A FREE service at the Women's Centre by a team of volunteer female lawyers providing confidential respectful advice for :

    • debt
    • housing
    • centrelink
    • guardianship
    • TICA

    Now Every Tuesday 2pm to 3pm

    Homelessness Connect

    A FREE service at the Women's Centre For support and advice with housing for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

    Now Every Tuesday 9.30 am to 12.30pm

    Play group

    Wednesdays 9.30am - 11.30 am
    Mothers stay with their children
    Morning Tea provided

    Senior Women’s Support Group

    This wonderful group of older women meet to enjoy each others company, share information, learn knowledge from guest speakers, go on outings. Transport available to some areas.

    Wednesdays 10.00 am to 12 noon

    Women Beyond 2000 (Closed Group)

    Fridays 10am – 12.00 noon


    Stepping Forward (formerly Creating Choices)

    Support group for Women who have experienced Domestic Violence;

    Tuesdays 10 - 12.30

    Runs for seven weeks, with a different topic covered each week.

    3. What is Domestic Vioelnce?
    4. Domestic Vioelnce - information about services and safety
    5. Domestic Vioelnce - Effect on children and significant others

    Join in this relaxing activity with Yoga Teacher Meredith. No experience necessary
